The historic gardens of Belmond Villa San Michele, dating back to the fifteenth century, include a large wooded park and terraced lawns for a total area of 11 hectares. Since 1998 the Frontera company is responsible of the gardens management , over time renewed and expanded with new garden-suites, bars, restaurants, botanical gardensand swimming pool. Among the botanical specimens present in the parkthere is the 400-year-old wisteria, the only one in Florence to bloom twice a year.
